Stress Is More Than Mental
Scripture:
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Truth:
Stress isn’t just something you feel.
It’s something your body lives in.
We were made to rest. To rest in the love and presence of our good Father.
Right after God created Adam and Eve He then rested from His work. This is the natural position for us. Rest is active; it's where our needs and identity come together. This is where we are infused with His strength.
Body Insight:
Chronic stress activates the sympathetic nervous system
→ increases cortisol
→ disrupts hormones
→ impairs digestion
→ drives inflammation
Your body cannot heal in survival mode.
Reflection:
When was the last time you were truly still?
Response:
Take 5 minutes today—no phone, no noise.
Just stillness.
Consider practicing the Sabbath rest weekly. What difference do you notice?
Closing Prayer:
God, quiet my mind and calm my body.
Teach me to be still in a world that never stops.
Abba, Father, Teach me to live in a place of continuous rest. The peace that surpasses all understanding.
